Heart Rate Regulation
Poor heart rate regulation as a result of spinal cord injury is due to the impaired functioning of the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system regulates all of the other physiological functions that we normally take for granted. In addition to heart rate regulation, temperature regulation, blood pressure, respiration and control of the bowel and bladder are also included. Poor heart rate regulation may show symptoms of feeling light headed or even fainting after moderate exertion. Dangerous conditions may exist if the body’s heart rate is not regulated well. The Neuro-Acupuncture techniques work to strengthen the signaling of the autonomic nervous system and improve heart rate regulation.
